Despite the success of his ministry in South Africa, it is important to know that Jay Israel was born on the 9th of April 1988 at his hometown in Zimbabwe. He is not a South African but rather a Zimbabwean. The pastor was born to and raised in a Christian home by devoted Zimbabwean parents. Following his strong Christian background and upbringing, Jay Israel started preaching at the early of 16.

The pastor was engaged to a South African lady called Benene Bee. Their engagement took place in the year 2017. However they were only engaged for three months as the engagement got called off following claims of infidelity. The pastor at the time had already paid “lobola” – bride price for South African women, to show his interest and commitment to her.
Moving on from the engagement, Jay Israel found a new love interest called Khanya Mankayi who was a 21-year old university student at the time. Their relationship did not end in a marriage as Jay Isreal and Khanya Mankayi later on separated from each other.
Blessing Mashagwa was also one of Jays’s ex-girlfriends and another love interest. The two broke up following an accusation from Blessing that the pastor had swindled her of R500,000
The pastor and televangelist is currently married to Masabata Dube whom he started dating in early 2021. As to whether they have kids and how many kids they have, remains unknown to the public.

Pastor Jay Israel is no new pastor to controversies and suspicions. The televangelist’s controversies lies in his miracles and prophecies relating to miracle money, having the power to unlock people’s electronic devices and even seeing peoples ID numbers in a vision.
In the year 2020, Jay Israel was a trending topic on the news for coming out to admit that his powers were initially not from God but rather from a cult he joined in Benin where he was initiated. According to him, at the age of 19 when he was still struggling to grow his church at Harare Zimbabwe he met a supposed man of God on Facebook who was from Ghana and Jay Israel invited this man of God to preach at a meeting he had organized. It was then that the man of God promised to help Jay grow his church and give him true powers. This growth was further made possible through the sacrifice of dead animals. Although Jay Israel has now repented and parted ways with all such diabolic practice.
Still in the same 2020, pastor Jay Israel was accused of sending death threats to his former PRO who was believed to have exposed the pastor for his fake prophecies.
Pastor Jay Israel also publicly admitted to having died and resurrected following a fasting that lasted for over 35 days.
