RUTH GRAHAM QUOTES

  • “It is a foolish woman who expects her husband to be that which only Jesus Christ himself can be: ready to forgive, totally understanding, unendingly patient, invariably tender and loving, unfailing in every area, anticipating every need and making more than adequate provision. Such expectations put a man under an impossible strain. The same goes for the man who expects too much from his wife.”
  • “Take all away, I am content to know that such love is mine, for life is all too brief to grieve for pleasures bringing only grief, give me but you, it is enough just so.”
  • “If our children have the background of a Godly happy home, and this unshakable faith that the bible is indeed the word of God, they will have a foundation that the forces of hell cannot shake.”
  • “Temptation and testing (or trial) are two sides of a coin, Satan uses an occasion or person to tempt us to fall; God uses the same to try to make us strong.”
  • “My job is to take care of the possible and trust God with the impossible.”
  • “God has not always answered all my prayers, if he had, I would have married the wrong man several times.”
  • “Dear God, I prayed all unafraid (as we are inclined to do) I do not need a handsome man but let him be like you; I do not need one so big and strong nor yet so very tall, nor need to be some genius or wealthy, lord at all; but let his head be high, dear God and let his eyes be clear, his shoulders straight whatever his state, whatever his earthly sphere; and let his face have character, a ruggedness of soul and if his whole life show, dear God a singleness of goal; then when he coms (as he will come), with quiet eyes aglow, I will understand that he is the man I prayed for long ago.”
  • “A successful marriage is made up of two forgivers.”
  • “We cannot pray and remain the same.”
  • “Every cat knows that some things need to be buried.”
