The Lakewood church is an evangelical non-denominational Christian mega church, founded by john Osteen in 1959.
LAKEWOOD CHURCH FOUNDER
John Osteen and his wife Dolores Osteen, the parents of Joel Osteen are the founders of Lakewood church; they founded the Lakewood church on May 10, 1959. Joel Osteen and Victoria Osteen his wife are the lead pastors of Lakewood church, Joel Osteen’s father John Osteen advised him to become preacher for a very long time, but he refused and rejected the advice, preferring to work behind the scenes until January 17, 1999, when he accepted his father’s suggestion and preached his first sermon. His father died six days later of a heart attack.
After the death of his father in 1999, Joel Osteen took over as head pastor. Under his leadership, Lakewood became the largest and fastest-growing church congregation in the U.S. He quickly expanded the church’s media presence.

THE BIBLE

THE TRINITY
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that God the Father is the Creator of the world and is actively involved in humanity.
SALVATION
We believe that Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for our sin. We believe that salvation is only found by placing our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
WATER BAPTISM
We believe that water baptism is a symbol of the cleansing power of the blood of Christ and a testimony to our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
COMMUNION
We believe in the regularly receiving Communion as an act of remembering the sacrifice that Jesus made for us through dying on the cross.
