Pastor Dwight Kevin Buckner, Jr, more famously known online as Pastor Dwight is a seventh-generation pastor following the long-lasting legacy of the family in ministry. Pastor Dwight was born to Pastor Dwight Kevin Buckner, Sr. and Angela Buckner in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was raised in the Pentecostal faith. Dwight’s mother considered him to be a miracle baby because he was born premature, weighing only 4 pounds. Dwight’s parents were not allowed to take him home as he had to stay in the hospital for weeks in an incubator until he gained some more weight.

Pastor Buckner had a lot of academic challenges and barely graduated from high school. After applying for over 20 schools to go to college, only Morris Brown College in Atlanta accepted him in 2001. Almost 2 years later, and the school lost accreditation and that was when the Lord spoke to Buckner. When Buckner confirmed his calling to preach the gospel, he studied and earned himself a B.A. in Leadership Administration from Beulah Heights Bible College in Atlanta, GA in May 2007. He then went on to secure a Masters of Divinity from the Pentecostal Seminary in Cleveland, Tennessee on the 12th of May 2012.

Dwight Buckner is married to Elisa Bennett Buckner. Their marriage is blessed with two wonderful sons, Elias Dwight Buckner and Malachi Caleb Buckner. Pastor Dwight lives in Atlanta with his wife and two kids.

It was at the young age of 16 that Pastor Dwight Buckner received his calling to preach the word of God. Many years later and Pastor Dwight Buckner is the founder of Generation of Hope Church in Decatur, GA where he serves as senior pastor. His journey towards establishing the ministry from scratch with very little in the beginning and how much the ministry has grown over the years serves as an inspiration to others to never lose hope. His goal around the world is reach out to and bring hope to people unfamiliar with the church, young adults, at-risk youths, broken families.
