Smith Wigglesworth was unschooled as a child as a result of being born into a poor family and had to labor in factories and fields with his mother in order to take care of his family.
SMITH WIGGLESWORTH MINISTRY
Smith Wigglesworth was an evangelist who influential in early Pentecostalism. Asides from being an evangelist, Wigglesworth also worked as a plumber for many years but had to quit his plumbing work to focus full time on his preaching as it made him too busy for his trade. Some of his sermons over the years were put together into a collection of ‘Ever increasing faith’ and ‘Faith that prevails’ There were several claims of miraculous healing during Smith Wigglesworth active Ministry time. A person on wheelchair was said to have work, some were healed of cancer, tumor, tuberculosis and other severe health challenges. He however faced a lot of criticism owing to his methods of healing the sick which sometimes involved hitting them so much force that they were thrown across the room, slapping and punching them. Smith however said he was not hitting the people in question but the devil in form of their sicknesses. Wigglesworth Smith was also said to have raised about 14 people from the dead including his own wife. Smith believes that a huge reason for the success of his ministerial work was as a result of his speaking in tongues.

SMITH WIGGLESWORTH WIFE
Smith Wigglesworth married Mary Jane Featherstone a preacher of Salvation Army in 1882. Smith finally learned to read when his wife taught him to read the bible after their marriage. Afterwards, the only reading material in his home was a bible, which he preferred. Smith was married to Martha whom he called Polly until 1913 when she died, leaving him devastated and broken.

Smith Wigglesworth went on to minister until his death on the 12th of March 1947 in Wakefield, England, Smith wigglesworth died on March 12, 1947 at the funeral of his dear friend Wilf Richardson.
