Timothy James Keller more popularly known as Tim Keller was born on the 23rd of September 1950 to Louise A. Keller attended the Lutheran Church in America while growing up.

In 1972, Tim Keller graduated with a Bachelor of Art from Bucknell University and in 1975 he was a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity. Then in 1981, Keller received a Doctor of Ministry from Westminster Theological Seminary.

Before his death, Tim Keller got married to Kathy Kristy Keller in 1975 and together they were blessed with and raised three children.

Tim Keller became a Christian as a result of the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship he experienced while at Bucknell University and later went on to become a staff member with InterVarsity. At a later time, Keller was ordained by the Presbyterian Church in America where he served as a pastor at West Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Hopewell.
Tim Keller before his death was the founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church, New York City, alongside his wife where he led a diverse congregation of young professionals for more than 26 years. Overtime, the church recorded a weekly attendance of over 5,000 persons. Keller also co-founded and was the chairman Redeemer City to City where pastors are trained for worldwide service. It was in 1989, following the refusal of two others that Keller was recruited to start Redeemer Presbyterian Church. At the time, he had no previous experience whatsoever.

TIM KELLER DEATH
In 2002, Keller was diagnosed with thyroid cancer but he managed to survive it. In June 2020, he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He underwent chemotherapy that same year and had a surgery in May 2021 to remove some nodules. Keller continued chemotherapy, which was only successful in reducing, but not eliminating, his cancer. In June 2022, Keller began an immunotherapy trial at the National Cancer Center in Bethesda, Maryland. After much combating with the illness Tim Keller died at the age of 72 on May 19, 2023 under hospice care at home in Manhattan and was buried in St. Michael’s Cemetery near LaGuardia Airport in Queens.
